The United States is a nation of great diversity and tolerance. It is also a nation with a history of slavery and of racism that continues to this day.
The range of identity options available to avatars in second life is virtually infinite. Yet it seems like so many of us inhabit the narrowest range of Western beauty stereotypes. We paradoxically have wider options than RL, yet choose a narrower range.
In Reparations our cast would inhabit Liberty Island for a day. Bearing SL Tip Jars, we would seek reparations for slavery from any white avatar willing to pay what they choose, and redistribute those funds to any black avatars we encounter that day.
