We’ve all seen the SL skins that have tan lines, as if you were at the beach in a bikini. This is “funny,” of course, because IRL you might fight with tan lines, but in SL you never have to have them – so you go to the trouble of adding something you’d otherwise try to avoid.

I’d love to do a performance, perhaps at an SL beach, where we have a variety of tan scenarios. Like Yves Klein’s Living Brushes, Oppenheim’s work presents the viewer with a bridge across space and time. The two images above are juxtaposed as a diptych, yet they infer the passage of perhaps hours.
Since no one in SL ever ages, this might prove an interesting meditation on the passage of time in a place where time never passes.
